Portofino is a famous and prestigious tourist resort, located at the south-eastern end of the promontory of the same name, collected in a well-sheltered inlet between the peninsula that closes the Gulf of Tigullio and the Carega peak in the west, reaching into the sea south of the bay of Paraggi.
Portofino overlooks the small port always crowded with various boats and is surrounded by thick vegetation consisting of olive trees, holm oaks, pines and cypresses on the surrounding slopes. The living area that overlooks the small bay with an unbroken and impressive number of houses painted in bright colors, still retains the charming small Ligurian fishing village characteristics.
